Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary

  • The Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP) established Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation Centre in 1989. The centre is the base for the Elephant Relocation Team, which began the Elephant translocation programme in 1974. The only one of its kind in Malaysia, the team is dedicated to locating, subduing and translocating elephant from areas where their habitats throughout the Peninsular such as Taman Negara. Over the years our team has help to prevent the further decline of the elephant population by relocating more than 600 wild elephants.
  • Beside being the base for the translocation team and home for a number of residents and orphaned elephants, Kuala Gandah also aims to promote public awareness of the elephant’s plight in Malaysia and to support research into elephants translocation and conservation. The centre also strive to educate the public about the importance of habitat and environmental preservation. Visitors are encouraged to view a video on elephant translocation.

 

Deerland Park

  • The Deerland Park is a privately owned and managed deer park in Bukit Rengit, Lanchang, Pahang. It is open to public in 2004. It’s a place where you’ll find 4 types of deer, ie deer from Indonesia, East Asia, local deer called Sambar and Mouse deer. The park also housed birds such as Golden Pheasant, Crested Fireback Pheasant, Sun Conure and Ferret. There is also local python called Batek Python.


Fireflies

  • Kuala Selangor, a small rustic town known for its historic past. Bukit Melawati land-scape hilltop offers a beautiful panoramic view of Selangor Coast. Shaded by ancient rain forest are several fascinating historical attractions such as Altingsburg Lighthouse, the ruined fort and the legendary 100 steps (Afabled Execution Block). Silver Leafed monkeys are also found on this hill. And you may feed them with peanuts. Bukit Belimbing is the site of one of the largest firefly colonies in the world. The nocturnal tour is extremely popular with boat rides. Dine in a local restaurant by the river front before boating upstream to watch thousands of fireflies sparkling in the thick mangrove along both sided of the river banks, a wonderful phenomena resembling rows of brightly lit Christmas trees.


Batu Caves

  • Batu Caves is a Hindu Temple located at the outskirt of Kuala Lumpur City. These limestone caves are 400 million years old. There is a total of 272 steps leading up to the top of the main cave temple. It consists of three big cave. The world’s tallest Lord Muruga Statue with the height of 42.7m (130 feet high) is located here. This destination attracts a huge crowd during Thaipusam, which is an annual festival for the Indians to pay homage to Lord Muruga. This festival will be celebrated in January or February of every year. This mother nature attraction is the most visited tourist destination.

Upon arrival at Kuala Selangor, visit Bukit Melawati – The hilltop offers a sweeping view of Straits of Malacca and the mangrove swamps of Kuala Selangor Nature Park. Also found there are Silver-Leafed monkeys and food will be provided for feeding of the monkeys

Proceed to Kampung Pasir Penambang, the place where you can see fireflies. The mangrove trees lining the riverbank glow after dust like Christmas tree. Witness the light and glow of the fireflies while enjoying a pleasant boat ride in Selangor River. It is noted the fireflies consistently patronized the serenity of the mangrove areas

  • The Deerland Park is closed on Fridays. There will be no compensation or alternative for the closure
  • Please take note, after the Elephant activities, all guest are require to clean up (shower & change clothing) before boarding)
  • Please avoid wearing dark/black color clothing to avoid mosquitoes and bring insect repellent. No photo/video/catching fireflies during boat ride.

  • No eating or drinking is allowed inside the car/van/buses. Food can easily become messy, or someone might bump into you, having you spill your drink or squash your food, letting it fall to the floor.
