DESCRIPTION/ITINERARY:

Visit UNESCO-listed Malacca on a day trip from Kuala Lumpur. See where Malaysia began on the Straits of Malacca. Gaze upon the ruins of St. Paul’s Church (closed every Monday) and Red Square (Christ Church closed every Monday), the pink Dutch administrative buildings that now house the Malacca Museum and government offices. Enjoy authentic local food at lunch. Afterward, see the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, where 3 major doctrines of Chinese belief are worshiped under the same roof. Take a stroll along Malacca’s Jonker Street, which ends by the banks of the Malacca River. Learn about the Malay sultanate, Malacca’s rise as an important trading port and the Portuguese and Dutch influence from the early 16th century.
